The Extended course is structured in two-day blocks over typically a three to four month period, culminating with a written examination on theory and exercises. An 'Apprenticeship' stage in a studio or group classes, leading to a Supervised Teaching Period of typically 50 hours. This commences after the tuition period. The required length of the Supervised Teaching period will vary by student. The written examination may be taken on any of the specified examination dates once you have completed your tuition days.

Anatomy is taught during the course in relation to the exercise programme. Students are expected to have developed sufficient knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology prior to commencement - booklist supplied. Successful students will receive a certification to teach mat-work classes in the Pilates Method and may be licensed, subject to agreement, to use the Body Control Pilates Trade Mark.
